Meet the Horses

  • Behr

Behr passed away on August 15, 2024. He was the horse who sparked my love for horses, and the bond we shared was truly one of a kind. He wasn’t a fancy show horse—just a $500 Craigslist find—but he turned out to be the most meaningful part of my journey with horses.

From the moment I met him, something just clicked. I brought him home that day, and from then on, he became part of my heart. Behr had a calm, wise presence that made everyone around him feel at ease. Though he was retired from riding, he found his true calling in bringing joy. He ruled the pasture like a gentle king, patiently teaching the younger horses how to behave.

I was his person, and in his final days, he wanted no one else but me by his side. While I love all of my horses, the connection I had with Behr was deep, strong, and incredibly special. Losing him has left an emptiness, but he also reminds me of why I continue to open my heart to horses.

I often think about how different life would be if I hadn’t brought him home eight years ago. I would’ve missed out on knowing, in my eyes, the greatest horse to ever live. I miss him every single day.
